Meet the experienced professionals leading NDG's humanitarian mission.

John Sörbö is a Norwegian humanitarian disarmament and mine action specialist with over 23 years of experience across Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. He has worked with organizations including ArmorGroup, Norwegian People's Aid, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Norwegian Red Cross, APOPO, the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), and the Danish Refugee Council.
He attended the Infantry Officers School and the Norwegian Military Academy. He holds a degree in African Studies from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Humanitarian Leadership and Management from the University of Lucerne in collaboration with the ICRC.
He completed commercial diver training at the Norwegian School for Commercial Diving and has worked as a commercial diver inshore and offshore, including in the Mediterranean. He served as Head Instructor for rescue diver training with the Norwegian Sea Rescue Society. He is also a qualified paramedic authorized by the Norwegian Ministry of Health.
He previously served in the Norwegian Army as an Instructor, Platoon Leader, and Deputy Company Commander, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain. He also served on UN peacekeeping missions in Lebanon and the Balkans, gaining operational experience in complex environments.
Laura Lime is a financial strategist and humanitarian leader serving as Chief Executive Officer of NDG, where she provides strategic direction and oversight of the organization's operations. She has held senior roles including Senior Internal Auditor at the Competition Authority of Kenya and Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, managing grant-funded programmes for organizations such as UNDP, USAID, and the European Union.
She holds a Master's degree in Economic Policy Management from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Moi University, an Advanced Diploma in Business and Accounting (ACCA), and an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance (IDHA) from Fordham University.

NDG cooperates with a qualified Kenyan legal advisor who provides guidance on legal compliance, contractual frameworks, and regulatory requirements. This ensures that all engagements are aligned with national legislation and conducted with the highest standards of accountability and transparency.
