Who We Are

NDG is a specialist humanitarian consultancy firm dedicated to restoring safety, dignity, and livelihoods in communities emerging from conflict.

We support governments, NGOs, and international partners with technical expertise in mine action, organizational resilience, and humanitarian programme delivery.

Founded on Nordic principles of neutrality, integrity, and respect for human life, NDG combines technical precision with an unwavering commitment to people. Our work ensures that mine action and humanitarian operations are safe, compliant, and aligned with the needs of affected populations — strengthening national systems and enabling sustainable recovery.

Our Founding

Established in Nairobi, Kenya

NDG was established by John Sörbö, a former Norwegian Army Captain and humanitarian disarmament specialist.

With over two decades of experience across Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia, John's leadership philosophy is clear: sustainable peace depends on eliminating the fear and restrictions caused by explosive hazards, enabling the safe release of land for resettlement and productive development.

Today, NDG operates through a network of mine action, resilience, and crisis-management professionals guided by IMAS, national standards, and the sector's good practice.
